The role of BAM
Bank Al-Maghrib is the central bank of the Kingdom of Morocco, established in 1959. Its statute is governed by law no. 40-17. It conducts the country's monetary policy, issues the national currency (the dirham) and safeguards price and financial stability. It publishes the dirham's reference exchange rates against major currencies every business day, the data that powers our currency pages.
